Rotary Club Coimbatore Central celebrates “ Joy of Giving Week ” Indians' annual festival of giving.

“Caring for our seniors is perhaps the greatest responsibility we have. Those who walked before us have given so much and made possible the life we all enjoy”

- Senator John Hoeven

In the spirit of sharing carrying, Alpha GK Matriculation Higher Secondary school students celebrated the joy of giving week from October 21 to October 25. Selected students from grade contributed their savings and visited St. Francis, an old age home in Ramchand, Kotagiri, The Nilgiri district. There were 14 elderly residents (female) at the old age home.

The school students interacted with the elderly followed by an entertainment program with music, action songs, and dance.

When older people see children dancing, they reminisce about their childhood, which gives a renewed sense of youth and even joins, essentially experiencing a momentary feeling of being a child again;

This is because watching children dancing triggers memories and emotions associated with their younger years.

The residents were very happy and blessed everyone. Later, shawls and biscuits were handdelivered to them. It was a joyous occasion full of satisfaction that the team could bring some rays of happiness among the elderly.

The motto of this service is to encourage civic responsibilities, inculcating the spirit of giving back to the community and creating compassionate and selfless partnerships.
