Rules and Regulations
At Alpha G.K. Matriculation Higher Secondary School, we believe that discipline, decorum, and mutual respect form the foundation of a successful learning environment. To maintain a safe, structured, and value-rich campus, we expect all students and parents to adhere to our well-defined rules and regulations. These guidelines are designed not to restrict, but to guide students towards responsibility, integrity, and excellence.
General Rules for Students
Conduct & Discipline
- Polite language, good manners, and respectful behavior are expected at all times.
- Students must speak only in English within school premises to build fluency and confidence.
- Students must move in line during class transitions and maintain classroom silence when teachers are absent.
- No permission to leave the school campus during school hours unless approved by the Principal.
Attendance & Punctuality
- All students must report to school before 9:30 a.m. sharp.
- Late arrivals will face disciplinary action; repeated instances may result in escalated consequences.
- Minimum attendance criteria must be met to qualify for examinations.
- No student may be absent without prior written permission from the Principal.
- Leave of absence must be documented in the school diary and supported by a leave letter.
Uniform & Appearance
- Students must wear the prescribed uniform neatly and with pride.
- At least two sets of uniform and two pairs of black/white/blue socks are mandatory.
- Untidy attire or non-compliance with dress code is not permitted.
- Wearing gold or silver ornaments is strictly prohibited.
Cleanliness & Responsibility
- Students must keep classrooms and school premises clean.
- Any student found littering, damaging school property, or misbehaving will be liable for disciplinary action.
- Personal belongings and valuables must be handled responsibly; the school is not liable for loss.
Examinations & Assignments
- Attendance in all exams and tests is compulsory.
- No special retests will be conducted for absentees.
- Malpractice in exams is a serious offense and can result in detention or dismissal.
- Homework and assignments must be completed and submitted regularly.
Books & Diary
- Every student must carry the school diary daily and use it to record homework, leave entries, and communications.
- Students must bring only prescribed textbooks and notebooks to school.
Private Tuitions
- Private tuitions outside the school are not encouraged.
- If necessary, tuition may be arranged within the school with Principal’s approval.
Guidelines for Parents / Guardians
Support for School Discipline
- Parents are expected to cooperate by ensuring regular attendance, punctuality, and discipline in their children.
- Reinforce school values and maintain a positive attitude about the school in front of your child.
Communication Protocol
- All correspondence must be addressed directly to the Principal.
- Parents are not permitted to interact with teachers during class hours without prior permission.
Monitoring Academic Progress
- Check the school diary daily for homework, teacher remarks, and circulars.
- Ensure that assignments, records, and homework are completed and submitted on time.
Appearance & Hygiene
- Make sure your child arrives in clean uniform and with neatly groomed hair.
- Provide nutritious snacks/lunch daily. If forgotten, it may only be delivered during lunch hours.
Pick-Up & Drop-Off
- Parents collecting their child directly must do so after 4:30 p.m., post-school hours.
- No early pick-ups are permitted without prior permission.
Parent-Teacher Engagement
- Attendance in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) is mandatory.
- Suggestions or grievances may be shared respectfully through proper communication channels.
Fee Payment
- All term fees must be paid at the start of each term.
- Monthly payments must be made on or before the 5th of each month without delay.
Change of Address
- Inform the school office immediately in case of any change in address or contact details.
Important Note
Non-compliance with school rules — by either student or parent — may result in disciplinary measures, including warnings, suspension, or removal from the institution in extreme cases.
