Maxims for Alpha Students
At Alpha G.K. Matriculation Higher Secondary School, we believe that values shape the foundation of a student’s character. Our 10 Maxims are guiding principles that instill discipline, respect, and responsibility in our learners — both inside and outside the classroom. These timeless values encourage students to live with dignity, purpose, and excellence.
Each maxim is carefully crafted to shape behavior, reinforce school culture, and develop self-awareness among students. These are not just rules — they are life lessons meant to guide every Alpha student in their journey of education and life beyond.
The 10 Maxims
Your school is a place of worship
Enter the school campus with reverence — as you would a temple, church, mosque, or ashram. Let your heart be filled with gratitude and purpose each day you walk in.
A good beginning makes a good ending
Listen attentively to the morning assembly, announcements, and instructions. What starts well, ends well — make every day count from the very beginning.
Work is worship. Excuses do not produce champions
Be sincere with your homework, classwork, and assignments. Avoid unnecessary leave and complete all academic responsibilities on time.
Your teachers (Gurus) are next to your parents and God
Greet them politely and uniformly, respect their guidance, and strive to fulfill their expectations with sincerity and humility.
Discipline yourself diligently
Move in line, stay organized, and respect routines. Discipline is the key to success in every walk of life.
Polite words do not cost much, yet they accomplish much
Speak gently. Use words like "Please," "Excuse me," "May I," and "Can I" — they reflect your character and upbringing.
Cleanliness is next to Godliness
Keep your surroundings clean. Pick up chalk pieces and paper bits. Treat your classroom as your second home.
Listening is very different from hearing
Practice mindful listening both inside and outside the classroom. Listen with focus, respond with clarity.
Time is precious
Be punctual. If you’re late, seek permission respectfully. Time once lost is never regained.
Discussion is an exchange of knowledge
Raise your hand to speak, avoid shouting in chorus. Wait patiently for your teacher and maintain calm between class transitions.
Our Value Pledge
“ALPHA is for Sincerity, Honesty, Obedience, Orderliness, and Learning.
For these values, I have come to school — and with these values, I will leave Alpha.”
These 10 Maxims are not just expectations — they are stepping stones to greatness. Every Alpha student is encouraged to live by them, setting an example in academics, behavior, and community life.
