At Alpha G.K. Matriculation Higher Secondary School, we believe in creating extraordinary moments in the lives of our students — and one such proud moment was our entry into the record books through an inspiring cultural performance that brought honor to our school, our district, and our heritage.
A Historic Cultural Feat
On February 21st, during the celebration of World Mother Language Day, our school made history by organizing the largest traditional Badaga dance performance ever conducted in the Nilgiris.
A total of 435 students from LKG to X Standard came together to perform the Badaga dance for an uninterrupted 11 minutes and 2 seconds, creating a moment of pride and unity that will forever remain etched in our school's legacy.
This dance, deeply rooted in the Nilgiri heritage, reflects not just rhythm and movement but the cultural soul of our community. The coordination, practice, and spirit shown by our students and staff in making this record a reality were nothing short of exceptional.

The event was witnessed and certified by four prestigious record authorities, ensuring national and international recognition:

Honors & Certificates
- Every student who participated received two official world record certificates — one from Elite World Records and one from Indian Records Academy.
- These certificates not only represent personal achievements for our students but also serve as lifetime mementos of their cultural pride and school spirit.
Digital Participation – Indian Book of Records Webinar
Furthering our record journey, 147 of our students participated in a World Record Webinar organized by the Indian Book of Records, where they received participation certificates — showcasing our readiness to engage in global platforms, even virtually.
